Frequently Asked Questions.

  • What is the process?

Cosmetic Teeth Whitening removes stains caused by lifestyle habits such as foods, drinks, smoking, etc. A trained Teeth Whitening Technician will protect your gums and use a combination of teeth whitening gel and LED light to open up the pores and whiten your teeth. Your teeth will go 4-12 shades whiter from 1 session. Results depend on the client’s teeth whitening potential.

  • How long is the appointment?

The treatment is 1 hour and 30 minutes. This involves reviewing documentation prior to the procedure and after-care instructions. Treatment will consist of 4 - 15 minute intervals. A mobile appointment will be approximately the same time with an additional 15 minutes for setup/takedown of equipment.

  • Will it damage my enamel?

The answer is No, teeth whitening does not damage your enamel! The tooth is whitened through the dentin, a part of your tooth that is accountable for the colour of your teeth. The LED light with the teeth whitening gel will open the pores of your tooth, travel through the enamel to the dentin and whiten the tooth.

  • Can I eat, drink, or smoke after my appointment?

We advise waiting 1 hour before eating or drinking after your appointment. We recommended avoiding pigmented foods and drinks for at least 8 hours after your appointment. This includes things such as: red wine, coffee, tea, heavy sauces (bbq/pasta sauce), berries, ketchup, mustard, etc. Instead, you may have food and drinks such as water, chicken, tofu, alfredo sauce, cheese, celery, bananas, cucumbers, etc. Avoid food/drinks that will cause re-staining for best results.

Also avoid using tobacco such as: smoking, vaping, chewing, or smoking marijuana. The pores of your teeth are still opened and it is recommended to wait for at least 8hrs - 24hrs for the best results.

  • Will I experience sensitivity?

The products we use are minimum to no sensitivity. 95% of people don’t experience any sensitivity however if you do experience sensitivity, we recommend taking Advil/Tylenol afterward and pain will subside within 45 minutes. If you normally experience sensitivity we recommend using sensitive toothpaste 2-3 times a day for 1 week prior to your appointment to minimize sensitivity. You can also take Advil/Tylenol 30 minutes prior to your appointment to prevent sensitivity from occurring.

  • What is the difference between using other teeth whitening products?

We offer lower rates compared to dental offices. Our price is $200, while most dental offices charge between $400-$600. The products we use are minimal to no sensitivity while most dental offices and over-the-counter products have severe sensitivity. Clients will see instant results and receive gum protection, unlike products (i.e. crest white strips) where your gums are exposed.

  • How often should I whiten my teeth?

We recommended teeth whitening every 4-6 months if you smoke and 6-8 months if you don’t smoke.

Individuals with heavy stains on their teeth caused by lifestyle habits such as (smoking/ drinking coffee, tea, etc.) are eligible and may benefit from a second session (2 weeks apart) from their initial session.
